Accra Promotes Timothy Jones to Chief Technology Officer

Jones will develop and execute technology strategy while directing Accra’s digital transformation

MINNETONKA, Minn. – Jan. 12, 2023 – Accra, a nonprofit organization that provides individualized homecare services to people with disabilities and older adults throughout Minnesota, has promoted Timothy Jones to Chief Technology Officer. In his new role, Jones will focus on developing and executing technology strategy, including leveraging technology to improve Accra’s services, enhance efficiency and increase the organization’s return on mission.

“Tim is a proven IT leader with the analytical expertise to align Accra’s technology strategy with our core business objectives and the evolving needs of our service programs,” said John Dahm, Accra’s president and chief executive officer. “Tim’s knack for problem solving, team building and catalyzing change will thrive in this new role.”

Jones joined Accra in February 2020 as the organization’s Director of Information Technology. During the last three years, he has overseen significant growth within Accra’s IT team and the formation of a development team, which has created the Accra Access portal and commenced development of an Accra mobile application.

Jones managed the organization’s transition from an in-person to largely remote workforce amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He also led the development of a new home care and client profile technology solution called AccraFinity, which increased the flexibility of Accra’s data systems in the PCA Choice, 245D and FMS programs and other internal departments. The new data visualizations and report development processes have increased visibility into operational performance for Accra’s leaders.

“Accra’s technological capabilities have made immense strides over the last three years,” Jones said. “I’m proud of the way our IT team and the company have navigated the pandemic and adapted solutions to the shifting demands of home care and telehealth users. And I’m looking forward to shaping a technology strategy that will optimize the delivery of personalized services for Accra’s clients.”

As Chief Technology Officer, Jones will collaborate with the Accra executive team to implement appropriate technology solutions, driving innovation and leading Accra’s digital transformation. He will also develop long-term plans and strategies related to Accra’s technology needs in terms of security and innovation, and he will ensure Accra maintains compliance with government regulations for technology systems and platforms.

Jones assumes the CTO role at Accra with almost three decades of IT experience. Previously, he worked in an array of technology positions, including the role of IT Director at Christensen Farms, a large midwestern agricultural company, and he spent 16 years in software consulting leadership, software development and business advisory services. He was instrumental in the start-up and operations at Boyer & Associates, as well as work with other consulting firms. Jones’ vast experience has brought Accra helpful outside-the-industry perspectives.
